When you call the cable company to install services in your home, you don’t expect to be assaulted by the technician. For a 72-year-old woman in Dallas, this was exactly what happened. Our firm is representing her to seek justice for this horrendous incident.
Here’s what you need to know:
In April of 2017, Charter Communications, a cable provider, sent a contractor to the home of a 72-year-old woman with Alzheimer’s. After installing her internet, cable, and telephone services, the contractor, 23-year-old Moises Cabrera, directed the victim to her bedroom. He ordered her to remove her pants, and proceeded to sexually assault and rape her.
Shortly after the incident, the woman’s niece came to visit. When told what had happened, she called Dallas Police to report the sexual assault, and Cabrera was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault. The woman’s niece also called Charter Communications to report the incident, but the company said they used a third-party contractor, DCOMM Inc., for their installation services.
Attorney Mike Lyons from our firm has filed a lawsuit against both Charter Communications and DCOMM Inc. on behalf of our client. We are pursuing compensation for the damages our client and her family have suffered as a result of this shocking crime.
